Several years ago, the founder of Engineered Now purchased a Herman Miller Aeron Chair for his home office. He spent countless hours in what many consider an ergonomic benchmark. At the end of long days, he would lean back to reflect, read, or unwind — only to realize something was missing.
Without proper head and neck support, extended sitting began to take a toll. Neck and upper shoulder strain made it clear: the Aeron was exceptional — but incomplete.
The mission was simple: find the missing piece.
The first generation headrest, ENjoy, introduced a free-flow support concept that moved naturally with the body. It was adjustable, responsive, and quickly adopted by both corporate and individual customers. Soon after, ENlighten followed, incorporating leather finishes to visually match the Aeron armrests.
As the product line evolved, customer feedback shaped each new development. Users wanted greater forward positioning, improved control, and more defined support. This led to ENrich, which introduced enhanced positioning capability, followed by ENgage — a highly adjustable model proportioned to accommodate a broader range of heights and postures.
Over time, these designs matured into what are now known as the H3 and H4 headrests — refined, free-flow models that have been in the market for over a decade and sold more than 200,000 units worldwide. Built around dynamic movement and natural recline behavior, they remain trusted by a large global user base.
In 2026, Engineered Now introduced the H6 — the newest generation in our headrest evolution.
The H6 represents a different support philosophy. While maintaining full adjustability in height, depth, and tilt, it is engineered to provide a more stable, fixed feel once positioned. It features an updated geometry, refined construction, and a wide support surface designed to accommodate a broad range of user heights within a single model.
With the H6, users can dial in precise positioning and rely on it to stay in place — offering an alternative to the free-flow behavior of the H3 and H4. The wider design also makes it well suited for headphones, gaming, and extended focused work sessions.
Today, Engineered Now offers H3, H4, H6, HW, and Mirra 2 headrest models — each engineered specifically for its chair platform and backed by a 12-year manufacturer warranty.
From large corporations to home offices around the world, Engineered Now headrests are built for long-term daily use and designed to complement the Aeron’s original design language.
We continue to refine and expand our product line, allowing more people to experience the ergonomic benefits of properly supported head and neck positioning.
